Our flight was perfectly uncomplicated.
We stepped out of the plane and got our first 'true Icelandic' experience - gale force winds and a pelting rain. This is the stuff the guidebooks warned us about. After another stop through security screening, border patrol and customs, we acquired our first passport stamp of the trip.
Sadly, that is the best photo I have of Iceland so far. Between it being the middle of the night, and the weather, that's the only photo I was able to get. We've been told to expect some far superior ones in the coming days.
Surprisingly to us, there is a Duty Free for the arriving passengers in Keflavik airport, so when in Rome, well we picked up a few drinks for the week.
We're just getting settled in for the night at a very nice AirBNB, and will post more from the road tomorrow.
